Pre-K Class

 

The Pre-K Class is designed for children ages 4 and 5 years old. This class is structured very similar to Kindergarten and provides an emphasis on social and emotional development, language and literacy, fine and large motor skills, cognitive skills which include mathematics, social studies and science. The class has a maximum of 18 and minimum of 8 students. The student to adult ratio is 6 to 1 which includes the teacher, teacher's aide and a parent volunteer present at every class.

 

Each week the Pre-K Class follows a routine as listed below:

 

Monday- Sharing Day

Tuesday- Telling Day and Optional Extended Day Class

Thursday- Special Presentations and Reading Specialist Karen Stockstill

Days & Times

The Pre-K Class is offered 3 days a week. If your child is ready for an all day learning experience, we offer an extended option on one of those 3 days.

3 Day: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 9:00-12:00 or

3 Day Extended: Monday & Thursday 9:00-12:00 & Tuesday 9:00-3:00 (Bring a packed lunch).

NEW THIS YEAR! Classes have been extended by 30 minutes with a new end time of 12:00.

Registration &
Enrollment

Registration is secured with the completion of a registration form along with a $50 registration and supply fee payment, in the order it is received.

 

Please contact Sidney Cooperative at (937)492-9744 with any questions you may have, to schedule a tour of our school,  or to learn how to reserve your child's spot for the 2023-2024 school year (first come first serve). You are welcome to visit the classroom with your child anytime.

Meet Our Staff

Kim Sollmann is the Pre-K lead teacher. Kim has a bachelor’s degree in middle school math and language arts from Miami University, and a masters degree in literacy from the University of Dayton.  She taught grades 4-6, math and language arts for 11 years at Piqua City Schools and has been with us for 5.  Kim is married to Chad Sollmann and they have two children, Grant and Elise. Both children attended the coop and are now in elementary school in Sidney. 

Emme McClain is our Pre-K aide. She graduated from Jackson Center High School in 2018 and has studied education at Wright State University for the past 2 years.
